The 206-bed, eight-story children’s hospital was designed “from the inside out,” with the exterior reflecting the whimsical character of the interior. The 616,785-square-foot hospital, now undergoing expansion, is connected to the 171,257-square-foot Doctors’ Office Tower.
“The design was based upon the premise that the physical environment is as important as any medicinal advances we could employ in helping children get well. The Children’s Hospital intertwines the input and desires of our patients and their families with current evidence-based design components.”
