Housing the School of Pharmacy, School of Physical Therapy, and the Department of Psychological Science, McWhorter Hall is conveniently attached to the existing Gordon E. Inman Center that houses Belmont’s College of Health Sciences & Nursing. Other programs—including nursing, occupational therapy, and social work—also use space in the building as interdisciplinary initiatives are held in state-of-the-art laboratories. For even more convenience, the structure sits atop a four-level underground parking garage that holds approximately 420 vehicles.

The facility emphasizes integrated, “hands on” experiential learning components that include a licensed campus pharmacy, which provides services to students, faculty, and staff while also serving as a training site for student pharmacists. Belmont’s School of Pharmacy is unique as it is the only school in the state in which students can gain experience working in a pharmacy developed as a component of the program.

In addition, Belmont’s student clinic was moved to this building and includes a room dedicated for external practitioners to come to the university for consultations. A green roof that mimics a cedar glade with a wide variety of native Tennessee plant life is one of the building’s sustainable initiatives.
